Mixed Media & 3D

In my own art practice, I have been a commissioned artist since 1999 after graduating from Central Saint Martins, London, with a degree in Textile Design. Over the years I have developed my own individual style, painting and creating bespoke canvases, limited edition prints, wall hangings murals and accessories; my work has been commissioned for restaurants, bars, private and commercial properties. Each piece of my work is completely unique, incorporating an eclectic mix of vintage, sourced, collected, foraged and found materials such as fabrics, papers, leathers, threads and beads. I see the beauty in the over looked, discarded and forgotten.

I am a trained Art Psychotherapist, Textile Designer and Florist, where I have combined the three disciplines I love the most into my daily life. When I am not working as a Psychotherapist I paint, design, create and walk on the forest with my French Bulldog, Huxley. It is widely known that the outdoors can enhance our mental health and wellbeing. When I feel connected to nature – trees, plants, earth, landscape, sky, water, animals, birds and insects, it enables me to a heightened awareness of all that is around me and how nature is abundant with its magic and secrets.

My work is largely influenced by the natural world, with its colour and texture that ignites my passion and wonder. With a love of nature, I also use natural materials from my walks on the Ashdown Forest that brings a physical connection to my local environment.

My work is a pure reflection in the way I view the world all that is around me, where my love of colour is depicted in each piece. I am fascinated by the tactile quality of the materials, submerging them into the thick layers of paint and manipulating with mixed media.

Each piece of my work is completely unique, incorporating an eclectic mix of vintage, sourced, collected, foraged and found materials such as fabrics, papers, leathers, threads and beads. I see the beauty in the over looked, discarded and forgotten.

House of Kerri Scarves

My approach to my art and textile, floristry and scarf creations is fluid, blending inspiration from all things aesthetic, turning them into a sumptuous melting pot of couture creations which can be displayed in the home, a business, a venue or be given as a gift for an occasion or just because you love someone. I love creating a memory or a keepsake the recipient can cherish forever.

Beautiful House of Kerri scarves are available - printed from original artworks, with an emphasis on individuality and less on trends and seasons. My original artworks depict a passionate acknowledgement to inspirational places, where I observe nature, colour and textures, interpreted into intuitive and spontaneous responses and printed onto silk, cashmere and wool blend scarves.

Through continuous observation, I am emotionally stimulated and when designing and creating, I am in my element, where I can allow my instinct of flamboyant and theatrical ideas to flourish and develop within each piece I create.

Each scarf is exquisitely finished with antique and vintage trims, ribbons & tassels, no two scarves are the same, giving them their own individual ‘House of Kerri’ twist. Every scarf is lovingly wrapped in tissue and ribbon and boxed in branded ‘House of Kerri’ gift box. I hope one of my scarves will catch your eye.
